Kennis Werkers Regeling (KWR)

SET has been very successful in the “Kennis Werkers Regeling” (KWR),  participating in three different projects:

1. LithoSysSL with ASML. The focus of this project is on applying Model Driven Engineering techniques to develop  a domain specific modeling language for hardware simulation. This project is a joint project with Formal Methods.  Dr. Loek Cleophas will be starting as a PostDoc on LithoSysSL starting from January, 1st (2010).

2. Awareness Group and INQA in cooperation with LaQuSo. This project aims at the development of a methodology and tooling to improve size and quality measurements in dependable systems. To this end we study metrics and patterns derived from the source code. Dr. Lotte de Rore will start as a PostDoc on this project.

3. cVIP with Philips Healthcare in cooperation with LaQuSo. cVIP consists of a number of subprojects and SET is involved in three of those subprojects. The goal of these subprojects is to validate and improve the quality of software architecture.

Peach³ available for download

Peach³, the course management system currently in development at SET, is now available as a download. It is licensed with an open source license. The open source license allows the free use of peach³ by anyone interested. It also allows others to contribute fixes and enhancements to it. The currently released version is marked as a beta version but already very stable as it has already been in use for over 2 years at the Eindhoven University of Technology.

Tom Verhoeff opens EuroNext stock exchange

Last Monday, May 4th, dr. ir. Tom Verhoeff - treasurer of the Dutch Maths Olympiad - opened the EuroNext stock exchange in Amsterdam by striking the gong. It was a memorable day, as the exchange closed at more than 250 points, having increased by about 4.5%. Tom likes to believe that his 'soft touch' laid the foundation for this gain. http://www.euronext.com/editorial/wide/editorial-68220-EN.html
